Beautiful guitar, congratulations and all the best with it!

The more I read and hear, the more I am considering just such an instrument for my next guitar ... not anytime soon, though ...

Stunning guitar.
My lowly 322 12 Fret just blows me away. I can’t believe the full sound that comes out of a Grand Concert sized guitar.
I can only imagine what yours sounds like.
My tuners look like yours - not sure if they’re the the same though.

Here is another recording I made yesterday. An interesting showcase at how the Taylor 812CE has volume and resonance like one of my best acoustics, a Martin D41. Not exactly apples to Apples, but thought Roy might enjoy the contrast.

And here is a pseudo attempt at a finger style jazzy latin piece:

sheesh! that is gorgeous..

I've been getting the itch for a smaller bodied acoustic, (I've somehow collected three jumbos... ) This thread could spell trouble...

Those are the same tuning gears on my 812CE 12 fret. They look so basic. But seem to work well enough. Not sure if the current ivoroid tuners are better or not?

LOVE the A/B 812/41 comparison!

Reminds me of what I experience every morning swapping back and forth between my D-41 and new V-braced 714ce. Don’t you love the way the contrast makes you appreciate the superb - but very different - tone they each have? The Taylor makes me dig the Martin more. And the Martin makes me dig the Taylor more. Yin and yang, brother. Together they produce a uniquely sweet, broad and nuanced tonal palette...especially in the hand of a gifted player like you.

Very nice! Congratulations! Beautiful photos and lovely videos of your new Taylor 812CE! And, I like the looks of the black-buttoned tuners!

Holy heck, that sounds incredible! Sounds like the tone I've been looking for... If you want to trade with an om-21 you have a standing offer

Listening to these make me think you'd make any guitar sound good.

And BTW, the ivoroid tuners are the old ones. You have the current version.

Raduray, Thank you for the compliment and for the info about the tuners! These seem to hold tune fairly well and I do like the nice large black ebony (look or real?) buttons.

Gary
I just changed out to the tuners you have, and removed the ivoroid singles they used the last few years. My guy at Taylor sent me the black button 3 on a row replacement set as the ivoroid singles had some issues(slop and difficulty in turning when loaded). These new black button tuners(3 in a line) are super smooth and work perfect.
He told me Taylor has dropped the ivoroid due to issues as i mentioned.

I have a set of the older ivoroid you can have for free, but i would not recommend them at all. Plus the screw holes do not line up, but new holes could be drilled(but i wouldn't put the white ones on if i were you).

The black buttons are slightly larger and easier to grasp imo also. everything about them is superior to the older single white button tuners.
