Default I love my LR Baggs Anthem SL; but. . .

. . . lately I've been having some big problems with it. At the church I've been playing form many years, I've been having some loud buzzes when I'm playing, and they're not fret buzzes or anything similar. My guitar sounds kind of fuzzy. When I plat at home, plugging my guitar into my iPad, no problems whatsoever. I'm suspecting it has to do with the lights or some funny frequencies the Anthem is picking up. Who else has experienced that?

Go To the LR Baggs website. They have a small forum there and it is monitored by their tech named Caleb. He is great and very responsive. He has always been very helpful to me.

What’s the rest of the signal chain? If it is interference and you’re not using a DI for example that might explain it. Not sure why it would be a recent development as you say you’ve been ok with it for some years.

Maybe something has changed at the church?

More info needed!

1) Mogami 15 ft cable
2) LR Baggs Para DI
3) mixing console

that's it

It hasn't happened before. And yes, there was a recording made days ago and the settings changed, so probably that could be it. Curiously, that buzz was more noticeable when playing the low E and the A strings

Maybe you are overdriving the mixer's front end. They might have turned the pad gain up and the channel gain down.

I don't want to seem disrespectful, but have you tried changing your battery? A low battery will also cause a buzzy sound.

That has been happening to mine as well! I cannot figure it out, and it's driving me nuts.

The problem is not the battery. I just played it through my iPad and an iRig. No buzz whatsoever

If it was that, how come the buzz is only produced playing the low strings?

Low frequencies need more energy than high frequencies .

Could it possibly be that the tru-mic has come loose a bit? Also, I did a quick search and it seems as though others have had a similar issue and it ended up being something loose inside the tru-mic itself, which Baggs will replace.

Hmmm! I'll check that

Have you reached out to Caleb , the technical guy from LR Baggs that monitors their forum? He is always a great help to me. I just sent my Anthem SL in for repair. Seems part of the element is not working properly.

Sorry, I see I already mentioned this previously.
