Default WTB: Ryan Mission, Nightengale, or Paradiso

SEARCH OVER: RYAN PARADISO FOUND!
See new post below.

WTB: Ryan Mission, Nightengale, or Paradiso with cutaway and bevel.

Hey guys

Having wanted a Ryan acoustic for many years I have finally decided to hunt down the one I want.

I have done my homework and looked at every one of them on Reverb, eBay, and the forums. I have seen several that I like, but none that were just right. I like the Mission, Paradiso and Nightengale models and definitely prefer a cutaway and a bevel. I am an experienced buyer, seller and shipper, so I can help with all that.

So if you have a Ryan that you might be willing to part with please PM me with pics, price and info. Thanks!

Regards
Tone Disciple

Please help me find the perfect Ryan. I missed two recently that I would have purchased, but they got away while I was ‘thinking’ about it.

One was a nice 2003 Nightengale Brazilian at Dream Guitars, the other was the Beeswing Mahogany at Eddie’s.

I am picky, but I have new resolve to act when I see the right one. Bobby’s Maple and Sitka would be a great candidate if it had a bevel. So be on the lookout for any I might have missed and let me know.

Thanks!

The AGF members have been really great about referring various Ryan’s to me. At least a couple of them may end up being the actual purchase.

Thanks for your help!

So where am I in my quest? Close, but not quite there yet. You may have seen my other post expanding the quest to several Somogyi apprentices, Keystone, Beauregard, Buendia and, I should now add, Kostal. That is the result of seeing many videos of these fine builder’s work and seeing how consistently good they all are.

I have been a Beauregard fan for years and I discussed custom builds with him when he made the Facets guitar years ago. I got in touch with Buendia who was really helpful. And all of the Keystone and Kostal guitars I have heard are just amazing. Finding these in the right tonewoods, size and finish combinations has been really difficult. Then when I do find them they seem to all be pushing me out of my price range. Even in the used market.

So, I am working with Ryan on a custom build estimate, and they have some new builds that will be hitting their Dealers soon. In the meantime there are a couple of guitars out there I am watching from Keystone, Beauregard and Buendia, as well as running my searches in the used markets here on AGF, Reverb, eBay and elsewhere.

So please keep your suggestions coming! I appreciate it very much.

Default Quest Successful! Ryan Paradiso from AGF Member found!

After a long and productive search I have finally found a beautiful Ryan Paradiso from a great AGF member here. Thanks to all members who sent suggestions. I probably had 10 Ryan’s offered that were not shown anywhere in the current marketplace. This demonstrates the value of a Want to Buy post in the classifieds.

Special Thanks to Larry and the other members here for your support!

Congrats on your purchase

Is any AGF fellow aware of any big-body Ryans, therefore besides the Parlor model, in a 12-fret cutaway configuration? It looks like he's definitely favoring longer scale (25.75 in), which is the exact opposite of what my body requires

Always so nice when the forum comes through!!! Congratulations on your new beauty, I'm sure the tone is as top-shelf as the aesthetics! Enjoy in good health.

Did you check with Mike Joyce at Luthier's Collection?

Default Time marches on

I hated to part with this marvelous guitar, but advancing age and my limited playing ability fueled my willingness to let it go. I'm confident it found a good home where it will be appreciated. Thanks, Wayne. My guitar collection is still too large, but I'm making progress, albeit gradual. Larry
