Try some of those footswitch toppers or put something in front of that part of the pedal to raise up your heel a bit.

I use the Helix or a board with separate effects. I've been leaving the pedal board home and taking the Helix to gigs more often these days.

thread revival!!!

The Zoom AC3 got a lot of votes....
Can anyone tell me if you can use multiple effects at the same time?
Can I put reverb AND delay AND Chorus all at once?

Bucking the trend and going with the flyrig. Actually, I doubt its the best... but its what I use. Does what I need it to... DI, some compression, reverb, parametric notching, shaping, chorus/delay, and a boost.

Anyone give up on the Play Acoustic for something simpler?

I bought a T-Rex Acoustic Soulmate recently and it's probably all I'll ever need for my acoustic setup.

A little late on my response but I do have footswitch toppers. Having to step over other buttons to use the looper while standing means having to balance on one foot = difficult.

Not fair to vote since I've only played through one system- the system that I now own. The T-Rex Soulmate is one amazing piece of gear. Is it perfect? No, but then again no piece of gear will really ever do it all--and that is why lots of players have ginormous pedal boards in the first place.

It’s a fantastic unit. What do you use for vocals though?

I have the Trace Elliot Transit A. I like the fact that it doesn't have a looper because I much prefer to choose my own. Other than the looper, it has everything I would want for acoustic guitar - subtle effects suitable for acoustic and nothing else.

For a looper, I have both an EHX 95000 and a pair of Gibson (originally Oberheim) Echoplex Digital Pro Plus, both with the floor footswitches. This gives me all the choices I could want. I am not interested in karaoke type looping. I would much rather weave short sections of loop throughout a tune like Phil Keaggy does just to add a bit here and there to a solo acoustic piece. The Echoplex units are perfect for that kind of thing. The EHX 95000 is a great practice and arranging tool. I can run the audio output of my laptop into it along with my guitar to hear both at the same time through headphones, which is perfect for learning tunes by ear via Transcribe! and then listen to how I am doing on the looper. With 6 tracks to work with, it is also a great arranging tool for solo instrumental guitar.

The EHX 95000 and the Trace Elliot Transit A are both the same size and fit well together.

The best for me and my needs/interests is not necessarily the best for somebody else, as this thread attests to.

Tony

I just the slight delay/reverb on my HK Nano 608i. I really like to give an acoustic solo performance and think of my best vocal effect as my Heil PR-35. Very transparent and honest mic, my favorite.

Trace Elliott Transit A. Hands down the best.

I jumped through a lot of hoops — Line 6 Hdx500, TC Helicon Play Acoustic, TC VL3, Zoom A3 before buying this. I could have saved a lot of time and money!!

So you compared the Transit A to the Acoustic Soulmate, but left it off your list?

It would seem that you don't know and I don't know, and the only thing we can say for sure is that for our given needs, the unit we ended up buying seems to be ideal for us.

It becomes hard to say how our ideal pedal will work for others with differing needs/wants.

Take note of the poll though, and it seems you left out three units which ranked higher in the poll than the Transit A in making your assessment.
