The Earle of Salisbury - renaissance guitar
This arrangement by John Renbourn is just a pleasure to play. Or at least, it is now that I've worked out how to play it correctly, I'd been playing the last few bars wrong for nearly thirty years. Tcchhh.
There's something about these old early music pieces that are so nice to play, maybe it's the way the tonic minor resolves to the dominant major and back again. |

Thanks very much for watching and commenting. I'm glad you liked it. I tend to go for the olde worlde English stuff quite a bit. Maybe it reminds me of fairy stories or folklore, I don't know. It just resonates with my head.

That was good. I enjoy this type of music also, but I rarely play any of it as I'm way down the rabbit hole of Celtic and Celtic influenced stuff.
I like the way you muted the strings to give the guitar a nylon sound to it.

Barry, Glennwillow, thanks very much for your kind words. If you also like that style, there's a fair amount of John Renbourn, and similar on my folk baroque playlist. I'm wondering if there are more modern guitarists who also play in this style that I've not heard of?
Cheers. A lot. 😁 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...ifcIBxSsn4_Vsw |

Thanks for sharing. A little punchy on some notes but otherwise sounds fine.
