Amplifier recommendations
Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I can see there is a lot of reading here. Opinions please ! I'm playing a Larrivee LV-03 and was wondering what are the best amplifiers to plug into ? |

The Fishman amps are very popular. I use a Cube EX which I LOVE that has twin 8" drivers, twin 2" tweeters, and true stereo reverb and chorus. I can't go back to a mono amp after using the Cube EX (and it's less expensive lil' brother, the Cube Street.)

Rudy's recommendations are excellent, but it would help if you shared where you plan to plug in and what your budget is. As for locale--living room, small pubs, large halls, by yourself or in a group/band, etc. For example the Fishman line, all great, vary in capability and of course price. And I guess this is just for guitar. Speaking of which that Larivee looks sweet. |

Welcome ashadowman!
Is there a pickup in your guitar already and if so, which one?

I recommend AER amps. They’re pricey but they’re the best I know of and will provide many satisfying years of service for your acoustic playing and singing. Cheers

I would like to use the amp for small venues, coffee houses, large gatherings and with a group.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of expertise and opinions on tap here.
Here are some things it would help the recommenders to know: - Fingerpick/Flatpick/Strum or…? - Sing, too, or just instrumental? - Style of music: Driving rock and blues or folky singer-songwriter or…? - Other members of the the band: Drums? Multiple singers? Other instruments? - Amp just for you or PA for the entire band? Does bass have their own amp? - How loud does you and the band like to play? - Power source: Battery power or not? There’s probably more I’m forgetting. :-P I have a Fishman SA-330x with the Expander. Works fine with an acoustic-y Dead cover band. Sorry for all the questions just trying to help out. Cheers and welcome again. _Roger |

Will you be using the amp for guitar only or will you also be using a vocal mic?
Some amps/PSs are better set up to handle both vocasl mics and guitars.

If you want a battery (from cheap tp more expensive):
Fishman Loudbox mini Bose S1 Pro Ev Everse 8 Elite Acoustics (several models) Without battery: Fishman Loudbox Artist Acus AER Elite Acoustics If possible take an amp with a speaker diameter of at least 6“. All those will fit to your requirements. They don’t sound the same, so I‘d recommend to try at least a few of them.
