Default Teja Gerken & Doug Young Duo Plays in the California Redwoods

Doug and I had a lot of fun playing the Fairfax Festival in Fairfax, California this past weekend. Here's a clip of us playing Doug's tune "Autumn Roads" with some beautiful shots of the redwood grove setting that our stage was in. I'm playing my Mario DeSio baritone, Doug is playing his Kent Hamblin.

Thanks for watching!

Very nice sound and sweet playing.
I just could not stand disrespectful audience talking all the time. That would never happen in our venue...

It was a festival, so to be expected. You can't see the crafts vendors, food, etc that was all around. And the audience comes out louder on the recording than we heard from on stage certainly. I definitely appreciate playing to a true listening audience (we have a show like that coming up this weekend), but I'd not expect it at an outdoor, all-family event like this. There were 3 stages going at once, including some fairly loud rock bands, so I was just glad we could be heard in the little redwood grove where we were.

Where's your venue?

The music and the setting were beautiful. I sure was envious of what looked like moderate temps and low humidity compared to the sweat box we have on the Gulf coast from late May to early October!

well, I'm here to tell ya, in the a small pub, or restaurant patio gig, crowd noise is just a fact of life.

While some people pay attention and listen, others give the entertainers no attention what so ever and just talk louder to be heard over you.
