Hi guys.
I’m a newbie here. “Hi everyone “. I’m also new to guitar. I’ve been learning for about 10 months now and feel like I’m doing ok. I’m loving it more and more as I progress. Anyway, I have a couple of Yamaha’s one is the fgx5 which I adore. Especially plugged in. The other is Yamaha ll16d. Which is also great, not so much plugged in though. The one thing I don’t like is the gold tuners. I have the opportunity to buy some brand new / pre owned chrome gotoh 301’s for $20 aus. My question is does anyone know if they’ll fit the ll16? I did read on here somewhere that Yamaha use them rebranded on the ll36. Thanks in advance for any help you lovely people can offer. Darren. |

Hi Darren and welcome to the AGF.
Those Gotoh look like a good swap for the tuners on your LL16 - just make sure they both have the locating screw at the same 6 o'clock position - also check the size of those locating screws with the Gotoh, they may be a little bigger and longer and you may need to just re-drill the existing hole slightly - this happened to me just last week when I changed some Grover tuners to Gotoh. ![]() ![]()
