Congrats on a gorgeous guitar. I made my first "quality guitar" an Alvarez AD610eshb. I love this thing. Sounds amazing. Alvarez is very underrated in my opinion. I'm curious to know the differences between master and artist series.

Congrats again!!!!

Can you give us a review? Did you happen to have a chance to play it against a MD60?

Thanks everyone for the congratulations and welcome messages, really appreciate being able to share my nerdy thoughts with like-minded acoustic guitar enthusiast here.

To answer some of the questions above,

Masterworks series are full-solid versions of the artist series, they have almost the same bracing pattern.
The difference however are, paua abalone inlays on the headstock as opposed to MOP inlays on the artist series and wooden bindings and purflings instead of white/black plastic.

I havent got the chance to play the MD60, so i can't really make a direct comparison apart from knowing the classic rosewood/mahogany tonal differences.

Congrats! I'm a huge fan of Alvarez's ornamentation. I love the single inlay on the 12th and the bi-level bridge design. These are great looking, great playing and great sounding guitars! My 2013 Alvarez AG75CE has held up very well and the top has opened faster than any other guitar I've owned. I see you have a Baggs Anthem installed. That's one of my favorite pickups. How do you like the plugged in sound?

Im a fan of their design too, hard to find something to be disliked about. Thats a great guitar you have, has a modern vibe to it.
The plugged-in sound, in essence, are the actual representation of the guitar's voice, the percussive nature of the guitar's sound can be heard in great detail, the bass notes however, seems to have a more pronounced UST sound to it, full sounding, clean but not overly boomy, but its missing that natural airy sound. If i dial the controls fully opposite towards the bridge however, it a totally different animal, now it has that distinct 'quackiness' on every single string, but still manage to retain a tinge of the body percussive sound. I usually put the controls in between, to me is where the magic lies. The phase button works perfectly well too.

I have a '13 MD70ce.
I waited several years for one to appear nearby.
I have two local dealers, and they told me I'd have to order one, because they don't keep them in stock.

I've been playing Alvarez since 1996. So I knew I wanted a Masterworks or a Yairi. I found my Masterworks via Reverb.com. It just happened to be in my town. I played it and KNEW it was the one.

Congrats. I hope she inspires you for a long time.

Hey, several years? wow thats a crazy long time, likewise for me, the moment i first had it strummed, it "spoke" to me, and i knew this had to be it. The wait does make the acquisition all so much sweeter isn't it..
