Default Best Acoustic-Electric for looping at home?

I'm looking for a guitar that I can use with a looper pedal at home. I've gathered that the best pickup system is probably a multi source system such as a mic + piezo. Do most people agree with this? I hate the artificial sound most systems give you; they often don't sound true to life.

Other specs desired:
Price: less than $500
Scale Length: around 25"
Body Style: Concert/OM/000

I don't even mind if it's all laminate.

The best thing I've found so far is the Yamaha FSX800C; however on that the scale length is a full 25.6".

As an aside; what are some opinions on pickup systems? Are you fine with just a single source pickup system such as a piezo? Is that sufficient enough for looping at home?

Buy any acoustic electric you can for under $100 and get a LR Baggs Voiceprint DI with the other $400. You'll get natural sound then.
