I don't think you're a prude at all. The media constantly objectifies women and sometimes we all can get sucked into it if we aren't careful. Then again, if it quacks like a duck...... It all depends on our current mood too - we all perceive things a little differently.

everyone has moments when they're high strung. Luckily, with the 24-1/8 scale of the GT, you can relieve some of that tension.

Perhaps Taylor is just marketing their new scaled down GT guitar to women or guys who would buy it for women in their lives. That’s all I see. I have no idea what anyone else is seeing here.

If it were a dude in the same pose would anyone care?

I completely agree^^^ .The "message", subliminal or not, definitely leans very much the wrong way to or for me.

Really...Taylor...this was the best you could come up with?!

Exactly. It's like those TV ads for Caribbean vacations, where you are to believe that if you go, you'll be hanging around with beautiful, half naked women.

Oh, and my wife took one look and considered this ad sexually exploitative and inappropriate.

Bob, I'm not sure what you're referring to as "woke people" or "wokees"...is that meant to be a derogatory term?

But I can say that my mind's eye didn't see anything sexually exploitative in any manner in the ad..

And since you've mentioned it, I decided to show the ad to my wife for her opinion, and she thought it was "as cute as Christmas"...

Maybe he meant "wookies" ?

And here I thought ornaments are supposed to be part of Christmas.

Seems like this discussion would be better in Open Mic. As for the picture, Taylor won't sell me any guitars because of it, nor will I avoid them because of it. However, it's not the "beauty" I'm used to in that magazine. It seems to me that after the "v-class" fiasco they are trying their hand at pushing the T-class (testosterone) now. Whatever. Mine has already found its way to the trash.

How different would we feel if she was playing a banjo?

For those who may not know, Wood and Steel is also available on the Taylor website. My favorite column is Ask Bob, where he answers questions from the citizenry. Always a good read.

Guess Taylor bracing isn't a fun topic anymore.

Now we're critiquing their photo shoots.

But the important question is whether Martin has an answer.

Hmm. That should have been in the "Girls With Guitars That Impress You" thread.
