I really do need both. I've been having fun comparing the two guitars over the last few days and sound clips are coming soon.

For now, this is what they look like while playing.

Mod D

My friend says the 00 just looks wrong when I hold it. Comical on the size difference

Very cool, Eric! I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the too. 00's are/can be wonderful guitars and an extremely comfortable size.

Kindly,
Danny

here is a recording of the guitars side by side.

Its all one recording and the second guitar starts at 2:34.

I start out playing in DADGAD fingerstyle, then DADGBD fingerstyle with a few slap harmonics, then Standard with a little strumming. At 2:34 I try to play the same thing on the other guitar.

Sorry for the bad playing, but I its fun to compare the two guitars!

Guess which guitar is which!

I am guessing the first guitar is the Mod D although both guitars sound huge, really.

Salut Mau, I guessed the opposite but know that my tone deafness puts me at a definite disadvantage. But I do agree that both sound BIG. Cheers, berf

Eric,, forget the guitars,,, thats trivial,, the real question for me
is ,,,Are you really a Bear fan, or do you just happen to have the shirt?

Best regards,

Rick

Michael, thanks! The wife likes the tone from the Mod-D better at this time. She needs a little convincing

And Rick, YES! Born and raised in Chicago!

Congrats, Eric. That 00 is currently my favorite guitar ever; I only wish I could have played it in a slightly quieter setting.

I hope you don't mind, but here is a photo I snapped at Woodstock:

Mod D first, 00 second, my guess. Fatter low notes on #1 - more bass resonance altogether. Such sweet and clear harmonics on #2 - I can see how you would want to have both.

Yes, Mod D first.

I've been wrong before...

i would guess Mod D first, 00 second. deeper low end on the first guitar. sweeter highs on the second guitar. but my nickname is "wrongway" and for good reason. i'm always wrong.
