ID on Gibson Acoustic
I found this vintage Gibson a while back in good condition, all i needed to replace was the truss rod cover. I can’t figure out the exact model since the numbers aren’t all there anymore. Faded away over the years I’m guessing, anyways I took it to guitar center and they told me it was most likely late 60’s? Any information would be appreciated! Pictures link below

Possibly an LG-3. The binding is throwing me off, as they usually have white binding instead of black. It looks like there's a stamp in the soundhole, and I think I see "LG", but it's hard to tell for sure.

The pickguard looks as though it was added later, which isn't uncommon - to me it looks like one of those old Herco replacement pickguards you could buy at music stores for two or three dollars.
I don't know if the angle that the photo was taken is causing it, but the headstock shape looks a bit odd to me, and the greenish color of the headstock itself is kind of strange, as well. I'm going to send a link to my favorite Gibson guru to see if he can tell us anything about it. Wade Hampton Miller |

What's the nut width? That may help with the period.

The international man of mystery who I consult whenever faced with Gibson questions believes it's genuine:
"I think it's genuine. I don't know why anyone would want to try to fake a low-end Gibson model from a crappy time period anyways.... "I agree with drive-south, probably like a B-25 B-15? Check the serial number online from the headstock." whm |

Looks like a B25, although all the B25s I have seen feature adjustable bridges; some belly up, some belly down. The B15 had a rectangular (AJ-style) bridge, and was satin finished with no binding. My guess is an LG-O with a replacement pickguard, and possibly replaced bridge.

What’s meant by nut width is how wide it is where the strings cross it, from one side of the fingerboard to the other.

Welcome to the forum. There are friendly folk here—and lots of knowledge.
Your guitar is going to confuse us a bit. I agree with those who suggest b 25 or lg 3. But the back isn’t bound, which suggests LG O. Most LG Os had Mahogany tops. The tuners seem older than 60s. (A 60s B 25 would have Klusons). Wade is right—the pickguard looks to be a replacement. The bridge, perhaps, too? Gibson made many changes to the popular LG or B 25 during their heyday. These were the guitars passed around in college dorms.

A few earlier LG-0s had spruce tops, but from '69 - '74 most, if not all, were spruce. Early models had a rectangular bridge. They came with the plastic bridge from '62 to '66 or '67. A lot of those have been retrofitted with wooden bridges. In '68 they came with a reverse belly adjustable saddle/bridge. After that I think they were standard bridges (not reverse belly). The black streak in the rosewood suggests it might be Brazilian. If so, it would likely be the original bridge rather than a replacement. So I'd put yours '69 or later.
