Default Mystery Aria AD29S

Anyone ever heard of this one? Google has nothing. Made in Japan. Top is solid. Not sure on back and sides.
Mahogany is hard to spot grain patterns inside to out but it appears to match.

Thanks for any help.

Default Aria

Aria is one of the ones where there's almost no support. I've tried to get info on my 12 string from the 60's but there's little info on the web and most Aria websites seem to ignore any inquiries.

Most of their models were solid top and laminate B/S, but there were less expensive all laminate models.

To determine if the B/S are solid, if you remove the endpin you'll be able to see a cross section of the side and be able to determine from there. My guess is that the AD29 "S" might mean solid or Spruce top, hard to know for sure..

If it's a bolt or screw on neck, you can also remove the neck and should be able to see the side cross section there. Also, if it is a bolt or screw on neck, it's a good idea to check/tighten those screws periodically.

Let us know if you're able to find a reliable source for info. There are a lot of Aria guitars out there and few of us have had any luck in finding a source of reliable info.

Thanks for the responses. The end pin is tight. Will the wood extend beyond the filler piece where the end pin is located? Like to know before I go to the trouble of removing it?

Thanks again.

These Guitars were manufactured by " Matsumoku Industrial " in Japan.

The upper tier models are very nice instruments.

One quick way to check if the guitar is of solid B/S, look inside at the sides and see if you can see any strips of fabric and or thin pieces of wood that run perpendicular to the grain is a good indicator.

Now if there is not support stripes, that doesn't mean that it's not solid but chances are that it isn't.

If you do have those stripes, your a happy camper

Aria is a tough one...they apparently changed their naming/numbering conventions several times over the years and depending who was marketing the 'Aria' name.

If it helps, the earlier MIJ ones were made by Matsumoku, along with other familiar brands such as Epiphone, Morris, a few others that were Martin-style acoustics. It's a very long list of guitar marques.

Hard to get the phone in with the strings on it. Took a bunch of pics and didn't see any filler pieces. Here's a shot in case anyone sees any clues.
