It varies from week to week. Right now it's a song called "Shoeboxes" by David Ramirez. Here's a link. Shoeboxes

I seem to always find myself starting with "Wichita Lineman" or JT's "Her Town Too".

Great thread!

My warm-up song is Operator, by Jim Croce - great song that works both hands pretty actively!

One I love to play:

James Taylor's "You Can Close Your Eyes" - he wrote it in 1970:

but if felt like he wrote it just for that day the day he played it at the 9/11 dedication last year:

I really enjoy playing, Kottke's, "Ojo", and "Theme From The Rick, and Bob report"
His, "Little Martha" arrangement is fun too.

+1 for "no such thing"

i have to say i really love playing "my stupid mouth" by john mayer.
it's not necessarily a very hard song to play but it's a lot of fun, has an upbeat style, and a humorous message.

I don't know if I could say it's necessarily my favorite, but I don't think a day goes by that I don't play Leo Kottke's "Fisherman". I'm not sure I could get it out of my head if I tried.

Default Amazing Grace

I do a nice version of Amazing Grace in Open G with a slide, it gives it a great bluesy feel.

Someone Like you - Adele (My band is working up parts and harmonies but still trying to be true to the original)

Pumped Up Kicks - Foster the People.

Both great songs. I think it surprises people when a band of fifty yr old guys do new music.
