Default Pyramid Western Folk Polished

I just noticed these on Strings By Mail, are these a fairly new offering from Pyramid ?

Has anyone tried the Pyramid Western Folk Hand-Polished strings yet ?

I prefer very smooth feeling strings, like flat wounds,
and was wondering if these Pyramid Hand-Polished strings had that same smooth texture as flat wounds.

I did find these on their website - if you scroll down you will see that they are called: Round Core Bronze polished for studio recordings. This construction, with round steel core and phosphor bronze wrapping, leads to a clean, long vibration behavior and a uniform sound development of the strings. To avoid annoying finger noises here, the wrapped strings are sanded and polished again by hand! It creates a perfect and clean address for studio recordings!

Here is more info from String By Mail about the Pyramid Western Folk Hand-Polished strings.
They claim these Hand-Polished strings are ground down and smooth to the touch for a squeakless and mellow sound.

I was wondering if anyone has tried them and if they really are
"smooth to the touch for a squeakless and mellow sound".

Thank you Jay

Yes those at the very bottom are the ones.

I hesitate to get them because I've tried other brands of strings that have made similar claims of very little to no finger noise and have been disappointed.

Hi, I have these on now. I also like strings with less squeak, but tbh, these are just slightly better than your average 80/20 string on the squeak spectrum. My first impression was that they were very warm and good for strumming. Unwrapping them, they have a fabric feel, but once on the guitar, they felt like Optima strings (organic; nice). I've never played the unpolished western folk. I know it's not bronze, but if you're looking for good phosphor bronze strings with little squeak, then I'd highly recommend Newtone doublewounds.

Thank you for chiming in.
I had a slight suspicion they weren't entirely squeak free.
Yes, I have tried the Newtone Doublewounds and I agree they do have less squeak.
I prefer no squeak and I'm presently using Dogal Nightclub V25 bronze flat wounds and they truly are squeak free.
I really like these strings but don't like their high price
and was hoping the Pyramid Western Folk Polished might be a more cost effective squeak free alternative. Oh well, the search continues.
Thank you again for your input.

I have a set of the light roundcore on my Martin and I like them. I don't play the Martin much so the strings are over a year old. I'll be buying them again.
