Which Gibson would you buy???
A 2017 Gibson Songwriter Deluxe EC for $1850 that is 75 miles away or
a 2016 Gibson Songwriter Deluxe EC for $1900 that is 35 miles away. Any major differences between the 2 years? Both are in brand new condition (as advertised on Craigslist)

Take the advert with you to the 35 mile guitar and if you like it, ask for a price match?

With that little difference in price, I'd take the time to "try them both on" if at all possible, and let my fingers and ears make the decision. (I hope they are both in the same direction from you
)

I think the one Neil Young plays is some sort of Martin, but later in the vid, they show a Gibson, and that guitar looked real cool.

Unfortunately, the two sellers are in opposite directions from me.
In an email I received during the night, the seller of the 2017 wrote: " I spent $2700 on the bare guitar. And this is brand new I played it one time. I have the same exact one so this one has been in storage for the last 3 months since I bought it new." Should this guitar being in storage be a red flag? Of course I do not know how or where it was stored.

Personally .. I'd check them both out.
Pricewise .. Its hard to say. But The used market is very soft right now. Unless it's a super deal .. things will just sit on craigslist. So you may have time to check both. Make a deal on best one. But if you cannot see both.. I'd arrange a phone call with each seller to feel them out. The one that's been in storage, I'd need more info. What kind of storage? Under the bed .. or in a storage locker in high heat or humidity. Why they buy 2 .. is this one the dud? Lastly everything on CL is negotiable. Doesn't hurt to make lower offers.. see what each seller says. Good luck !

I would say to decide which you're leaning toward. Go try it and if you like it advise the seller you were hoping to try another. If he gives you a better price and if you think you'd be happy with that one, buy it and forget the other. Chasing both ends of a rainbow can be frustrating and a waste of time, unless you like driving. Good luck.

Which gibson
I have found Gibsons very inconsistent. I would definitely plan on playing both before you make a decision.

Don't ask me for advice. Last month we drove a whole lot further through Deliverance country to check out a Kay standup bass. They dropped the price and we bought the bass. Now I just have to figure out how to play it.

After an extensive google search I discovered that the guy selling the 2017 model (the one that was in storage) has an arrest record with the Florida Dept of Law Enforcement. I'm staying clear of that guitar.
So that leaves the 2016 model. Is this worth $1850? is that a good price for a 2016 Gibson Songwriter Deluxe CT Studio? The pictures on Craigslist show a very nice guitar in great condition, and the serial number indicates a guitar made 28 Apr 2016 in Nashville. The 75th guitar stamped that day.
