Consensus on the Fishman Matrix VT Enhance System
Thinking about getting the Martin OMC-15me but I am not keen about the pickup system. I would get the Martin 000-15m but sadly I live outside the USA and it is currently not available. Our local Martin dealer doesn’t restock often.
I’m only curious about the Fishman Matrix VT Enhance from the Martin 15, 16, and 17 series and not the Aura VT Enhance from the standard series. |

I have one in a martin 0014s custom shop. Sounds terrific.

My 000-17e came with this pickup. I used it for about a year before getting fed up with the tone and ripping it out for a Baggs Anthem SL. Me and the guitar are both much happier now.

Had it in 2 guitars and didn't care too much for it. The "enhance" body pickup is good for tapping on the guitar but the overall tone gets very bright as you turn it up. It has a Matrix undersaddle pickup, which is OK. Overall its OK if you aren't too picky, but if you are, you will be left wanting more.

My OMC35e has it and I really don’t like it. It has midrange and NOTHING else. Using the ENHANCE knob just causes feedback. I have tried different DIs and preamps. Nothing seems to help. It’s a shame because it is a wonderful sounding guitar unplugged. I am really thinking about taking out the whole thing and using a K&K, disabling the battery box and using the jack in the guitar.

Wow, I’m surprised with poor reviews of this system. I run the contour at 2 or 3 for a little scoop, the enhance at 3 or 4 for some “wood” and the volume stays below 7.5. I find Fishmans pres to be very hot and overload PAs inputs easily.
