I cheated a bit and purchased the body from Stewmac about 4 years ago when they sold knotty pine bodies. I finished, assembled, wired, fret leveled and set it up, but did not have the pleasure of cutting or routing it. Well, i did route for the neck pickup, but that was no big deal.

Love the Gibsons! Is that an R5/R4 goldtop or a Tribute?

The R4 was a custom shop in a “champagne” finish (I have long forgotten the Gibson name for this color). Non weight relieved, it came in a just under 8lbs.
I still kick myself for letting this one go.

I currently own three Taylor Solidbody electrics. The third will be picked up from my friend's house in a few weeks.

The one on the left is almost a museum piece - absolute new condition and (I think) the last SB2 ever sold brand new anywhere in the world.

I've owned several electrics, but the one on the right is simply the best sounding electric I have ever played in my life. I can't get over the tone and versatility of this. I can play every single thing from twang country, to funk, to pop to heavy metal.

I absolutely positively love that guitar

And I love the Taylor electric feel - also the best playable guitars I've ever had.

Now, I love the Sterling (and Music Man) Cutlass body for pure comfort. But the neck and tone of these guitars blows everything else away (IMO).

That word...I do not think it means what you think it means.

I mean, that's my aspirational neatness level.

Cool chair, BTW -- what kind is it?

I've been through just about everything out there made by Fender or Gibson over the years. Pre CBS Strats, Jags, Jazzmasters, Teles, Custom Shops, ES-335's, Les Pauls... but now I only have one electric and this is it.

Nothing I've ever owned or played sounds as good as this guitar to MY ears and it's the only electric I want to play. Think early Rolling Stones here!
