Yeah, I was surfing music sites and commented on his retirement on this thread by mistake. Two of my favorite writer/singers. Nearly the same vintage also.

Music business was always designed to make huge profits for the labels and managers. If one believes all the books on the subject, from Pink Floyd to the Dead, and even Lennon-McCartney and Elvis-for years the artists didn't even own their own songs. Absurd and nasty. Later the artists fought back and stadium touring ,ticket prices , internet scalping-well that all changed. Profits still ruled though.

For me, Gordon's " Song for a Winter's Night" speaks from real emotion-doubt much profit in that one. But so effective.
