Thanks Beth. I appreciate your kind remarks

Ive been thinking about renaming this guitar in honor of Paul and just calling it the Pablo. After all he did design the thing.

If so this would be the Pablo with the full Pablo package. Is that too repetitively redundant?

Pabloly not.....

On a serious note, "The Mitchell" is one of the most beautiful builds I have seen. Elegance in every detail. I would call this musical art at its finest.

Congratulations Paul and John! This will be a tough act to follow.

BTW....sound clips????

Smile Woohoo

The Pablo! With the full Pablo Package!!! Por Que No??? Good one, Godfather! Pabloly not. Haha

Beth, we miss you and send good thoughts and vibes for you and Randy!

I just got off the phone with Hanter, who picked up his new JK and is giving mine a workout too! He is staying in Asheville For a couple days.
Talk about overload...

The reports are GREAT. (As expected, but still nice to hear!)

I can't really say I designed this beast, but I did ask John for this BIG body and all these features. John figured it all out, including the sliding neck adjustment which is the most elegant I have ever seen, and works easily and very well indeed.

We also got great advice from Tim McKnight repeatedly. Thank you Tim and Mary!

Major kudos John, for making it all happen, and in such a BEAUTIFUL way!!!

Have fun Han, and give it a serious workout or five. Please do clean up any drool, though! Hahahaha

I played this Pablo Mitchell till 1am last night. I will leave you to describe the tone and the beauty of this guitar when you get your hands on it, but I can say with some level of confidence that you will be mightily pleased!

Smile Thanks Hanter

This is now back with John I understand. Hanter gave it a few vigorous workouts and reports are excellent! As expected, but always nice to hear.

I think we are going for a satin finish on the neck, like Hanter asked John for on his.

I am now getting a bit antsy! But I do want John to keep it a few weeks just to triple check nothing migrates out of perfect geometry. I know this can happen although I doubt it will on this beauty!!!

Play pretty and tune often

Paul

Thank you Dennis! I hope to be able to serenade folks again, and I expect this will see much use for that! I am NOT going to leave this one at home if I ever get to gig again.

This just in from John 20210131_113128.jpg.

Note the small access hole for the nifty neck adjustment mechanism just above the 15th fret. It is off center because of the asymmetrical neck carve, I believe. I don't even notice it on the BIG GUN.

Getting close as he is doing final setup

Salud

Paul

Paul, this guitar is so beautiful, you may want to invest in an armored vehicle to travel in.

That hole is off center so that the little adjustment screw can avoid hitting the larger neck bolts that ARE centered up inside and outside.

Hey Godfather, an armored car would cut into my guitar budget! Besides right now I have zero gigs anyway ...

The plan is for John to take this to Al Petteway for a spiffy demo video. I want folks to get a better sense of its capabilities than my limitations allow.

Fortunately Al only lives a few miles from John. Unfortunately there was still quite a bit of snow in Al's long steep and narrow driveway a few days ago! So there may be a bit more delay. Oh well...

Anticipation....

Salud!

Was thinking the same, this rosette made me think of Jimmy Wingert’s work (which I admire) right away.

Thanks Scallywag, glad you like its looks! Now for some audio visual fun...

Here is Al Petteway, I hope:

If anyone knows how to move this to YouTube it might be easier to access.

Enjoy!
