Steel string vs nylon string fretwear
Is there a big difference between the speed at which steel string and nylon strings cause fretwear? I would expect that steel strings wear out frets much faster, as they are a harder material, but I don’t have enough experience with nylon to compare them both.

In my limited experience nylon strings have very low fret impact.

Fret wear the Trigger, Willie Nelsons guitar, with nylon strings.
Peace!

Fret wear is almost non-existent on classical guitars. Trigger is an extreme outlier.

I would say "steel" strings wear frets,
but frets wear bass "nylon" strings.
