Really pretty work Mark. Is that a kind of burl on the headstock? You probably said but whatever it is it’s magic.

Thanks KevWind! I wanted to keep a more understated overall look. I think a dreadnought can look overdone much easier than most guitars. I wanted to save the fireworks until the player actually has it in playing range.

I’ll be arranging with Dustin to do some demos.

Thanks for commenting John. Yeah, that’s Dessert Ironwood burl. I agree, it’s magic!

Default All Set

I have the Dryad spec all set with the final set-up.
Now I get to play it some!

I am very happy with the depth of sound I'm getting as I am certain anyone would look for in a dreadnought model. It also has great clarity which is something I look for on all guitars I make. I will be arranging with Dustin to do some sound samples.

I wanted playing comfort including while sitting with this dred and I feel I've achieved that to my satisfaction.
Here is a picture (as if there could be such a thing) showing the comfort of this guitar while seated:

Thanks for viewing!

Default Updates

Now that I have my first Dryad dreadnought completed I can start updating my website. That starts with the creating the background and gallery pictures. I have two more Dryads near completion so I can build up a nice picture gallery from there.

I took a couple page background pics which I will build onto to get things started:

I'll start making the website update this week. Some things like the sound samples will have to come later but I have enough to do in the meantime.

Thanks Craig! Yeah, dreadnoughts seem to me to carry a lot of tradition so I held off on the fireworks for this one

Here are a couple pictures of the ADI/torified Hard Maple Dryad I've been closing in on:

More to come on both the Dryads I'm work on.

I didn't think it could get much better, but I love that non cutaway even more! also I really like your headstock design on this model

Thanks roscoe2311, the cutaway is definitely a different look. Some players want the extra access to the upper frets, some the more traditional dreadnought look.

The Walnut dread I am working on in tandem with this guitar has a similar headstock with little more traditional symmetrical design.

Thanks for commenting!

Thanks Treenewt. I am fortunate to be able to be making a number of this new model at pretty much the same time: long scale, sort scale, cut-away, no cut-away, ladder braced back, lattice braced backs, voiced for fingerstyle, voiced more traditionally, with and without sound ports, with and without french polish and different woods. It's a great way to welcome a new model!

I'm catching up the Walnut Dryad with the Maple one here:

You can see the 450 million year old Iberville Shale truss rod cover and the buffalo horn tuner buttons are in place on this next photo:

Thanks for viewing!
