I have a 0-28VS. I don't play it much because the size is a bit small to hold comfortably and in a proper position. However, when I do play it, I remember how much I like it. It is my Diva, a big voice in a small body.

Ditto for the 0-28VS. I have a slew of rosewood and mahogany small body guitars from the '30's through the '60's, and until my recent acquisition of a 00-21, the 0-28VS got well more than half my playing time. And deservedly so, since it played like butta and sounded like champagne.
When I pull it out these days, I always say, "Ahhh- this one is a GOODIE." I don't think Martin EVER made a 14 fret neck join 0-28. Special orders maybe? Six of them show up in 1937 and another one in '69- they might be 14 fretters- but none seem to exist before that or since. I will say that to me, "012-028" is a dumb non-sequitur of a name. But I bet they are sweet instruments. PMac Guitar Slacker and 12 Fret Fan |

This happens to be a great post to read today, as an 0-28VS will arrive in the next few hours.
I loved the 00-28VS that I played for a number of years until 2014. I totally agree with all of you, "this one is a real goodie", "plays like butter and sounds like champagne"....couldn't say it any butter I recall the amazing resonance and how great the neck felt in my hand. Due to a shoulder issue I needed a smaller model. I decided on my Bourgeois 0 Vintage, and would make the same decision today, as it is an extraordinary guitar. Again however, I need to go smaller and am selling it. My wife's Martin 2014 14-fret 0-28 fits, so I looked for a 0-28VS and lucked out. I'm incredibly psyched, and surely know what I will be doing tonight! Thanks for the VERY relevant 0-28VS post today.....guitar karma. Bob
