Lava Me 2

I was in my local GC yesterday for strings, and, as usual on a quiet weekday afternoon, popped into the acoustic room.

Much to my surprise, there was a used Lava Me 2 hanging on the wall. I couldn’t very well miss it - it’s brilliant white, so it stuck out like a sore thumb. Naturally, I had to have a go. Impressions:

1) it’s tiny. I have an 0-sized Martin, and the Lava is tiny by any guitar standards.
2) it was surprisingly comfortable to hold, despite it having the proportions of a soap dish.
3) the finish appears to be semi-gloss, and there were a couple of grubby spots on it. I wonder how easy it would be to keep clean.
4) the strings were pretty knackered but despite that, it actually sounded pretty good. Warmer than I’d expect, and surprisingly well-balanced.
5) the neck is very skinny (for my tastes), and the action was a bit high. No obvious way of dealing with that, but it was quite playable.
6) I didn’t try the onboard electronics.

Is it worth $499, used, with (presumably) no warranty? I’m sure it will appeal to someone, but it will most likely sell because it’s cute, rather than for what it’s made of.

Careful there David. The GCs around here make it difficult to walk out empty-handed. Good thing you went in for strings so you didn't have to get another guitar so as not to leave empty-handed.

Which GC was it? I think you are closest to the Oakdale store (?). They usually have something interesting.

It’s the Bloomington store, Tony. The acoustic room was actually decently well stocked, which was a pleasant change from the last time I went in.

And, as you well know, I don’t need another new guitar right now
