Melodyne by Celemony is on sale for Black Friday. There are a lot of choices out there for track tuning these days, and I've tried a bunch of them, but Melodyne is the best for what I want in this kind of program. I use this almost exclusively on vocals and it allows me to bring pitchy notes in tune without creating artifacts or imparting any kind of funky character on the voice.

The are a bunch of different editions, each becoming more powerful and adding features as you move up the ladder. But you can jump in now for just $49 at the "essential" (lowest) level. If you're interested, I'd recommend getting your feet wet there and only jumping up a level when the upgrade goes on sale, as it does a couple of times a year. That's the cheapest way to move up.

At first, the software can be confusing because I don't think the GUI is intuitive, but after watching the tutorial videos, you'll catch on easily enough. And Celemony has a very complete library of tutorial videos.

They have a series of basic tutorials.

And they have a series of more indepth examples of how to use the software.

The very excellent MassDrop Sennheiser 6XX headphones are on sale for $199. If you've never ordered from the site before, you should get a pop-up that will get you another 10% for signing up with your email address.

FYI - These are not clones of the Sennheiser 650 headphones. These are Sennheiser 650 headphones made by Sennheiser for MassDrop. They are sonically identical.

On sale: Rare Signals Transatlantic Plate reverb. Sale price of $99! (reg.$149)
use code BLACKFRIDAY at checkout.

In this Marc Daniel Nelson video ( Produce like a Pro), he exclaims at One minute and ten seconds that he believes this plug in nails the sound of a Plate reverb.

I grew up on the Plate reverb sound. It has that Iconic 60's & 70's feel. While I use my other reverbs much more often, there is something unmistakable about that lush old fashion plate reverb sound. Same reason why I like transformers and tape...it can add heft and color.

The Kush Black Friday sale is on. Also, they've added a new plugin to the lineup called the LG Drive which they describe as a two-stage saturation plugin. I've mentioned the Clariphonic here numerous times and it remains one of my absolute favorite plugins. I've been wanting to grab their AR-1 Vintage Mu Compressor plugin for a long time and it's marked down to $49 for this sale. I don't think I've ever seen it priced that low. Perhaps the time has come.

FabFilter is 25% off for Black Friday. Their plugins may cost a little more than some others but they are excellent and have some of the best GUIs in the biz.
If you already own any FabFilter plugins, sign into your account and check your loyalty offers. They should be even cheaper than the BF prices.

Fab filter Pro R is the only plug in I did not buy on sale. I could not wait for a sale when I bought it because I love this reverb so much.

They are offering it at $127? Seemingly even greater than 25% off. Am I doing the math wrong? Hmmm? What other plugs ins should I consider from them?

I love FabFilter stuff and use Pro R and Pro Q almost exclusively in my mixes.

If you already own a FabFilter product and you sign into your account, you get a list on the first page that comes up. That list has your loyalty prices. Those will be better than the sale prices because you're getting both the 25% discount and a loyalty discount.

As for what plugins, when I was looking for a new de-esser, it came down to the Weiss or the FabFilter. I wound up with the Weiss because it went on sale first. But I could have been very happy with the FabFilter de-esser so I think that's good one to own. I also like their multi-band compressor.

I don't know what price they'll be set at but I saw Serrano say in another forum that his 84 and 87 mics will be on sale this weekend. I'm just putting this here in case someone is budgeting for one. I'll post the deets when the sale goes live.

Klevegrand has their Black Friday sale up. They make some interesting plugins including Haaze which can make mono tracks seem stereo and a cool brushed percussion plugin called Borsta.

The very excellent Chris Hein libraries are on sale for 50% off at Best Service. I own several of these and they're quite amazing in their realism.

The Oeksound BF sale is on. Their Soothe2 plugin is very popular for smoothing out rough edges. A lot of people swear it just makes things better.

Best Service is offering up to 50% off on many of their libraries, including the Eduardo Tarilonte libraries that are quite excellent if you're looking for particular instruments. I own the Celtic ERA (not on sale, unfortunately) and Accordians, both are phenomenal.
