My wife is the best. This morning she asked me ''So, are you giving any more thought to that new guitar?''

Right now I'm Upstate but I've got to get back to GC and try them again. I want to see this one in the flesh;

Maybe Sweetwater will match the GC sale price if you want the Raspberry Tea Burst. I agree, it's really pretty.

Default Epi es335; talk me into or out of one

335s are awesome and the Epiphone variants are often excellent value. A dear friend recently got given a nearly new Dot when she graduated and it plays at least as well as my Gibson 335 Studio.

Recovering from surgery sounds like a drag and it’s awesome you’ve found the way forward! I’m glad you’re doing better! As Bob Womack suggests, although I feel they do best with .010 top E strings, going down a gauge to .009 makes your life much easier for a while without being hard to adjust back (assuming you want to later).

My son has an Epi ES-335 and it's a nice guitar. It's just as much fun to play as my Gibson ES-335.

Well, I finally gave in to the pressure. My plan was to go to the store when we get home but it won't be for two weeks. My wife's argument is ''if you just order it, you'll have it, and if there is something you don't like about it, you can return it when we get home.

It will be here next week. I ordered this one;

I think it's very classic looking!

Good choice! Don’t forget to take pics and share when it’s arrived!

I own an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson ES335. It's a great guitar! I updated the pickups to Duncan Antiquities, but it was pretty dang special from the factory too. Now, I will say that you should try before you buy. I bought mine used and it's one of the most lively guitars I own. At the same time, they had a new one of the same model and it was not nearly as lively. The Epi is the one on the right (red).

WhooHoo, I'm psyched, I got a tracking number today. It is scheduled for Thursday!

My plan was to go to the store when I got home and try every one of these that I could. But the fact is that at this stage in my electric playing, (I've only tried them a few times at GC and SA) I can't tell the difference in the guitars and right now, to me, it seems like the difference is all in the amp.

So this way, I'll have the guitar on the 10th but I won't be home for another week. If there is anything wrong, I can exchange it or if I hated, I can just return it.

But I'm exited about this. I hope it will take my playing to another level. I've been playing for 6 years. For the past 4 or so years, I've been focused on learning songs and improving my singing for my jam groups. My playing has gotten much better over the years, but the 335 is going to make me focus on learning technique

Am I up for the challenge? I hope so, but it looks like I'm going to find out!

Congratulations! Well done on your new acquisition. I’m sure it’ll be excellent. I have been very impressed with Epiphones recent offerings. Please keep us posted!

I just saw a video with Robin Ford playing an Epiphone 335. I'm going to assume he plays whatever guitar he wants to play and he chose the Epiphone 335.

That says a lot.

I like that model. I love the green color, especially. I like that they changed the headstock and went with keystone tuners. I've thought about buying one to play with my band.

I have an Edwards (one of ESP's Japanese domestic brands) 335 copy that is amazing. I bought it in Tokyo a few years back. It's as good as any other 335 copy I've had or played, but it's pretty heavy (actually made from solid woods - interestingly - even Gibsons are laminates, I believe). The Epiphones I've played (the new ones like yours) were a tad lighter. I'd consider that a plus.

I think the one you got is a good update to the model. It ought to be a good choice. Enjoy!
