Beat me to it. Retrofret probably has more vintage Gibsons in inventory. You could also contact Larry Wexer to see what he has in inventory (he’s by appointment only). Lark Street music might also have some vintage Gibsons. But I would start with Retrofret and TR Crandall.

I just dropped off my Ditson reissue at TR Crandall for a refret, and there are quite a few stunning songbirds in the vintage Gibson dept. (ditto for Martin). I really like how laid back and personable their teem is... super warm and knowledgeable.

Thanks much.
My thoughts exactly.
Ill also add Rudys too. (Rudy is the nicest guy...told me stories of Mark K and Chet) and what a nice store that is!
Crandall and Retrofret. Planned on them.
I forgot about Wexler but yeah.

To clarify, it’s Wexer, not Wexler. I was going to mention Rudy’s, but he doesn’t usually have a lot of vintage flat tops in inventory—if you want a vintage archtop, that’s another story. He did get in several vintage Gibsons last year that were in the Scarsdale store—not sure if any are still there. The shop is always fun to visit.

Agree with @lagatrix about the atmosphere at TR Crandall. Probably the most laid back shop I’ve ever visited, and even more remarkable given the inventory.

+1 for Retrofret, Rudy’s (two locations), and Crandall.

All are excellent
