Taylor Baritone Grand Auditorium.....
Howdy y'all~
Last Friday, i went to my neighbourhood Guitar Centre (Studio City CA) and i found this REALLY interesting guitar——a prototype Taylor Baritone GA. Everything about it is really remarkable. First of all, the guy at GC told me that it is one of TWO in the WORLD... Taylor made it exclusively for the something-brothers and one of them sold it to GC for almost $1800. The guitar itself is a really aesthetic guitar... it has the expensive maple upgrade, rosewood binding on the body AND fretboard side, the abalone rosette was REALLLY fancy... more crazy-looking than the regular abalone rosettes, polished ebony fretboard and a Fishman Natural installed. He also told me that it is tuned to C#... the tone sounds really nice and pretty mellow. The strings, however, are pretty thick... and i could imagine why Taylor hasn't exactly floated the Baritone yet! But, it sounds sooooooooo good and looks like a beaut! If any of y'all are in the Los Angeles County region and are especially near the Valley, go and try out this really special, one-of-a-kind geetar. Blessings, nick |

Oh man, that sounds like my guitar
One can only hope they decide to offer them as part of their lineup. Brett [This message has been edited by Brett Valentine (edited 10-23-2000).] |

Cool! I wonder what the possibility of this going into production is?

Howdy,
JR, beats me! After all, the label said it was a prototype. But again, i thought it rocked and it seemed really nice... but the guitar was pretty darn fancy, so i suppose they won't make it the way it was done. Maybe less on the ornamentation... Oh well... Blessings, nick |

Personally, I think it would be a pretty incredible thing for Taylor to be able to put out a bari-acoustic. It seems that baritone acoustics have been drawig more attention, and I know Taylor would do a great job at it.
