Default lowden guitar strings

Anyone tried them? Who makes them? Lowdens always shipped with Elixir. They are very expensive 50% more than Elixir.

I was considering trying them until I saw the price. I'll stick with my Wyres for now.

I put a set of 12s on my F-23 tonight. They sound very nice - warmer than the Elixir Nano PBs I've been using, pretty much 'played-in' straight out of the packet. After half an hour's playing, I like them better than Elixirs, but only time will tell how they last.

I believe they are made by Cleartone, to specs laid down by GLG.

The only thing putting me off the Lowden strings at the moment is the price - twenty quid is a bit rich! But if they last as long as, or hopefully longer than, other coated strings, the lovely tone will make the investment worth-while.

Only time will tell.....

Pretty expensive. I've still got 3 sets of SUS strings left. By then there will be plenty of reviews out, and they had better be glowing to get me to pay that price.

Aren't you the lucky one - SUS Strings are Unobtainium here in the UK!

I'm happy with my 80-20 Elixirs, so I won't be trying the Lowdens-especially at £20!
