Default Amp question

Lets say for the sake of pure experimentation I wanna send my acoustic guitar signal to 2 different amps. Their stacked, plugged into same power strip. Can i do this easily without issues? Can i actually play through both amps same time or at best am i gonna have to A/B them back forth?

For sure. An A-B-Y switch is one way of doing it. If you run a stereo pedal of any kind, that's another way. Still another way is to run some kind of output from the first amp to the second amp's input. This third method is contingent on the first amp having either an effects loop or a line out.

If you go the stereo route, rather than stacking the amps, you'd get a better sound to run the amps in a side to side configuration.

Yamaha Guy gave you everything you need to know.

Using a Stereo Delay with two amps, is probably the coolest way to do this.

aby ABY splitter is really good too, but look for a good one (the Radial HotShot is probably the better choice between that and somethin like the Morely ABY)

Electro Harmonix do a really cheap a/y/b box called a Switchblade, you can run both or one at a time, easy!

I dont see why not. Acoustic amps
Have their strengths and weaknesses.
Perhaps taking advantage of this and
blending the best of both is worth the try.
We've been blending dual source on this
Forum for as long as I can remember.

Cool my two amps couldn't any more different. Old school 1st generation Fender Acoustasonic Sfx PR 370 from like 98-2000 ish. And my new Genzler Acoustic array pro. Massively different sounds, tones, effects features obviously. But thats part of the reason....gotta experiment just because....well because haha its there.

Another vote for an A/B/Y pedal. I've had good luck running a T5 into an acoustic and an electric amp through that pedal.

As you've probably figured by now, it's a type of pedal. It lets you send your signal to one output (A), another output (B), or split the signal (Y) and send to both at once.

the different characteristics of each amp will work in your favor. They will blend nicely. you'll like it.

Yeah that's why for the 1st time I ever even thought of this. You know bands on stages do this all the time. As soon as i changed my man cave around and stacked them was when I got the idea and thought "Hmmmmm....gotta be a way" to do this easy. and best part - Just scored an open box perfect condition with Warranty for 120$

Another way to do this is to feed them from separate outputs from a stereo FX pedal. If you haven't already heard a decent chorus pedal in stereo you have a great thing coming.

Small delays between spaced amps are also relatively awesome.

That would require a 2 channel mute switch to select amps individually though unless you have something in a multiFX pedal that selects outputs.
