Bach Minuet in D Minor in DADGAD
I've been revisiting my DADGAD arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Minuet in D Minor," which was originally published in Acoustic Guitar magazine several years ago, and which they recently re-published in their anniversary issue (for the record, I no longer have an affiliation with AG). I found a few more things to pull out of the piece, and had a lot of fun recording this video:
This is played on my 2004 Martin Custom Shop OM and recorded with a pair of Neumann KM184 mics. Thanks for checking it out! Teja Gerken www.tejagerken.com www.tejaanddougguitar.com www.youtube.com/tejaguitar |

That's very cool - so good to hear soothing so different in DADGAD but which really works with the rising nature of the tuning..
Looks tough to execute ;-)

Three comments:
1. That is lovely. Nicely played and arranged. 2. It sounds nothing like DADGAD and therefore avoids the tired schtick of that tuning. Hear, here. LEad us into new territory. 3. That is a lovely recording as well. I did not fall over and die due to you employment of Neumann KM184 mics, as the Internet Borg tells me I should. Bravo, for your performance, recording, gear, techniques, and my health as well. Bob

That is beautiful - you play very well. I certainly hope to play that good one day. I have both classicals and acoustic guitars and play both. I occasionally play classical pieces on my acoustic guitars. I really enjoy the sound.

This is quite nice. I like your arrangement and you certainly did break out of the usual DADGAD mold. Well done. Sound quality was very good as well.

Very nice interpretation, much richer than the first version I had learned.
Excellent

That was good. I subscribe to AG, so I must have the notation somewhere
