2006 RT1 Cedar/Hog MINT! THRU LABOR DAY: SOLD AGF
Too many guitars! This cutie needs a new home.
Now on Reverb. More pics there: https://reverb.com/item/6135375-r-ta...e-2006-natural 2006 R. Taylor style one. Early 1st year. exc+ OHSC. WAS ASKING $3,150. Then, $XXXX Then $XXXX WHOA!!!! NOW THROUGH LABOR DAY $XXXX net to me. Off market after Monday. Stupid low price for a Mint RT dialed by the Maker!!! Cedar/mahogany. No cutawayor pickup. VERY LIGHTWEIGHT! Super rich, LOUD and warm balanced tone at every note on every fret. 1.75"nut, 2 3/16" string spacing at the bridge saddle. 25.5" scale. One piece neck. (No Finger Joint at headstock!!! That only happened at the very beginning of '06, first year) No pickup. Factory installed strap pins. SUPER MINT!!! Absolutely as new! I have had 14 RTs now and some here on AGF have bought them! This is the most mint yet. Closet queen alert! Set up, buffed out, and dialed in to perfection by Tim Luranc. Tim has worked at Taylor, since before it was Taylor. It was "American Dream" when Bob T and Kurt L and their former partner bought the shop. Tim worked there before Bob! Haha. Luck me, and lucky You if you wind up with this one! Tim Luranc was the head luthier and in charge of R.Taylor!!! He was in charge of the build on this guitar, and EVERY R.T! Tim has played this and commented most favorably on it's incredible tone and playability, it's fine mint condition, and fab wood selections. Standard RT carve neck. Better than slim carve for medium to BIG hands. Not so great for my small and 66 year old working lifer musician hands. Sigh... Action is just under 6/64 or 3/32 inch at the big E string, and at 4/64 or 2/32 at the small E. So slightly under Taylor's recommended action height. All specs AOK plus! Complete saddle to adjust if desired! Very versatile. Works well for finger style and happily accepts moderate to vigorous flatpicking or thumbpick and fingers splendidly!! Con Gusto!!! R.Taylor's style one is the same size as the Taylor Grand Symphony. But there are several significant structural differences under the hood. See below... 16.25 inch lower bout. Kind of like a dreadnought with more curves. Super smooth and accurate brushed gold Gotoh 510 tuners. Taylor bone nut, and R. Taylor wave compensated bone saddle. Original Ameritage Taylor branded OHSC, is in LIKE NEW condition. All latches work perfectly. No dings or gouges, and it smells fine. These cases are extremely protective, although they are a tad heavy. Fits the guitar like a glove, and does the job admirably! Super well maintained. This guitar has been kept in its properly humidified case when not being played or massaged with a ToneRite guitar vibrator. And stored in my climate controlled, humidity monitored, plant filled music room. In my non-smoking pet free, child free home. Yes, perhaps I am a bit obsessive… Has hung repeatedly with a Tone-Rite for a week at a time. Way open! R.Taylor was a completely separate company from Taylor guitars. Their guitars took about three times as long to make, due to extensive individual voicing and handwork. Unfortunately they turned out to be in competition with Taylor's Build To Order and custom guitar programs. They ceased production at the end of 2011. I have it on good authority from folks I know who worked at R.T. that if they ever start up production again the guitars will be a lot more expensive! R.Taylor only made about 200 guitars a year for six years. In contrast the two Taylor factories turn out about 400 guitars per day! R.T.s have significant structural differences from any other Taylors. Among them, solid Kerfing! Resulting in extremely rigid sides, which allowed the top to be made a bit lighter and braced a bit lighter, which needs to be done by hand, but delivers more volume, and better tone! Also, the "snake head" headstock provides considerably smoother tuning due to a straighter string angle over the nut. And the Gotoh 510 tuners cannot be beat! I usually ship USPS priority mail, fully insured and signature required, on the first Monday after payment clears, to avoid sitting in a warehouse or truck over the weekend! Tuned down down two whole steps, well padded and headstock supported in her properly humidified case suspended in a properly padded shipping carton. I out pack the Pros, and consider packing guitars an art form! If you prefer special shipping, and or are out of the continental United States please contact me so we can work it out! Email in my AGF stuff.. send your email for pics or PM for questions??? Everybody play more real music. This world needs it! Yes, I recently sold an almost identical axe. It had a little honest play wear, and a 1 13/16" Nut. Same year, tho! 2006, first year for RT. This is a VERY good one Cheers. Paul Sent from my iPad

I know Paul. He cherished this for while. If he says that this is a good one, then it is. He never BS nobody.
Cedar, eh? I am starting to hear the true value in them.

I've owned a few R Taylor's, and I have owned a few guitars I acquired from Paul. In every case, the guitars were stellar. When you add the fact that all of Paul's guitars are not only carefully chosen in the first place, but are set up by one of the world's best luthiers in Tim Luranc (who was the top guy for R Taylor), that is an unbeatable combination. And yes, Paul packs guitars like they need to be packed and better than ANY I've ever received from anyone. Someone will love this guitar! Buy with confidence.

Yep, Cedar's my name, and playing it is my game. Seriously, a great combo of woods from a true student of the R Taylor brand. If Paul says this is "the one", he's picking the best from the best, and set up by the guy that ran R Taylor, no less. Price is crazy good too, and so is the seller. If you like the GS size, it doesn't get any better!

Thanks Andy!!!
Thank you Andy for the help with pics!
Anything that looks "off" is dust or reflections. I can not find a mark! I can email More pics if interested. BTW, the RT Style one is GS size. A bit bigger than the GA. Play on AGF Cheers Paul

Mint RT!
What a clean looking guitar! I'll bet it sounds even better in that GS body, big tone and beautiful.
Paul and I have had 3 dealings here on AGF. My '94 Taylor 555 came from Paul and was also setup by Tim Luranc, which means dialed in perfectly. On the fence on this one? Just do it! |

Bump...
Tuesday evening bump...
Thanks JD! All three of the guitars you got from me were set up by Tim L. Pretty sure he is the only guy to set up instruments for both Prince and John Denver... As well as JD! Haha This one is PRIMO for sure. Cheers Paul

Gorgeous cedar and mahogany!
and this wood combo really works well together. I would have bought this already if I could! I just put down big bucks on a baritone.

Some fine guitars have passed through Paul's hands. I have a nice old Bourgeois I got from him. This RT makes me drool, and at a bargain price.

Thanks gentlemen
JD, Larry, and Rye, thanks for the kind words! Larry I am glad to hear you are still playing at the Sr. Center where we met.
Larry bought a lovely Bogie from me and sat in at a gig, where he still plays! Buy an axe, score a gig! Haha JD, glad to hear you are loving the Bari! It should make that sweet 555 seem smaller... Tim Luranc, my pal Steve/shorthand, and My lovely wife Cindy all say I should keep this one, but I just have too many, and it is neglected due to my Custom John Kinnairds. But I wager it will be a treasured keeper for someone!!! Everyone play the good ones and change your dang strings! Hahahahahahaha Cheers Paul
