Real nice playing once again, Tony. Do you have a visual metronome of some sort that you're following? Very good timing..

HI Tony,
Once again, I want to thank you for so generously sharing such a professional transcription of the music; and free of charge! It is so nice of you and it is a great way to share your knowledge. You are making this great piece of music accessible to many of us. It’s not easy to find good music in a well thought-out arrangement for guitar with sensible fingering. The arrangements are everything! I have always seen this piece written in the key of C. The problem for me has always been that huge, 5 fret stretch in the second bar where you have to hit the F bass on the 6th string and the A on the 1st string. Your arrangement definitely solved that problem! I had to stop and rewind when I saw you play that without a stretch. Did that influence your decision to arrange this in D or did you have a different reason? Once again, great job and thank you so much for the music!

Quote:
I arranged the piece for 4 guitars years ago and kept it in its original key as it was a useful way for students to learn about dropped D. I brought the arrangement out again for a group recently and was demonstrating sections by combining the parts onto one guitar when I thought I'd try to arrange the whole piece as a solo. I had to miss out quite a bit but ended up with something playable. I know the arrangement in C you mention and I was never happy with it. With any piece, unnecessary difficulty means it's eventually abandoned after weeks of wasted time. Thanks again for your kind comments. Tony

Thank you JR. Yes, I do use one. My early YouTube videos were done without and I could be sitting there for hours trying to get a decent take and still fall short. Using a metronome has been a great way of saving time and frustration.
