Congratulations! A very nice honor indeed. The prize for your finish (Taylor 914ce) demonstrates the value of your accomplishment. And, it was very generous of you to pose the videos.

Lance, enjoyed listening very much. I'm sure it is a tough competition, so it shows you have serious skills. A real pleasure.

Hard to find words that express my appreciation of your playing without either sounding rote or sounding like a fan boy.
I can't help but think that you could have taken first if the competition were held on a different day...your playing is so smooth, articulate, beautiful, fluid (and musical). Loved all your clips. Your playing is reminiscent of Chris Proctor's (who placed first at Winfield years ago) earlier playing...not the same, but something kind of activates that corner of memory (as opposed to Michael Chappledaine, another winner who sounds quite different from the you and from Proctor). VERY NICE. Thanks for sharing your work. |

You've got chops and more importantly a fresh approach to playing - tasty without pyrotechnics.

I live but 60 miles from Winfield and have been to the Walnut River Valley Festival many, many times. The talent there leaves one dumbstruck. That's a fine prize, but aside from that what a picker!
