Default I Can't Tell You Why, Eagles 1978

"I Can't Tell You Why" is a song by the American rock band Eagles that appeared on their 1979 album The Long Run.
It was written by band members Timothy B. Schmit, Glenn Frey and Don Henley.
Recorded in March 1978, it was the first song finished for the album and the first Eagles song to feature Schmit on lead vocals.

Dedicated to all the peoples seeking the truth.

Feedback is much appreciated.

Very nice job on this Rene! And great job on the falsetto parts, which are not easy! Good for you, Rene! Very enjoyable listen!

Well, you did it again, Rene. A solid out of the park home run!

Very enjoyable interpretation for a single voice and guitar. The Eagles are not easy to adapt to that style with the results that you delivered. Just wow!

Hi Glenn,
Your comments mean so much to me, and am so grateful.
I try to stay away from my falsetto, which I get by.
Thank you so much for the great feedback.

HI Roland,
Finally, I was able to listen to your "Little Autumn Blue" album.
I did not realize it was a full album!
Prelude to a Tree is my fav, love this recording.
I am really enjoying your finger style guitar playing.
You are a true artist, and your musicality is way up there!!!
Thank you for this lovely music!!!
With love and respect,
Rene

Way to go Rene!

I was a real POCO fan. The Eagles kept stealing their bass players/vocalists. I was very upset when Tim Schmidt defected. Now they have Vince Gill, too!

I saw Vince live a few months after Glenn Frey died. He dedicated one of his songs to Glenn and played an extended solo at the end, quoting from Frey's solo in this tune. I guess they were pretty good friends.

You should do some Vince Gill! When I Call Your Name, Go Rest High on That Mountain.....you've got those high notes that he loves

Edit: Great shirt!

Sorry for the thread drift

I love your singing and the way you glide in and out of falsetto. The guitar has a nice, full sound. Is that MICed or direct? (I can't see the end of your guitar)

What model of Taylor is that? Love the finish!

Oh my, Rene.

You have a way of getting to the heart of a song, don’t you?

Just lovely.

HI ggibson189,
Thank you so much for the great comments, love 'em!!!
My guitar is not hooked up, the sound is being picked up by the 2 mics I am using.
I am using a Shure SM-58 directed to the guitar, and an Ear Trumpet Labs "Edwina" directed to vocals. I will ensure my guitar is fully visible the next time I record.
Great feedback!
My Taylor is a BTO All Koa Jumbo guitar.
Finally, the koa is blooming.
Warm regards.
Respectfully,
Rene

Hi @ggibson189,
Thank you so much!
You are so awesome, and so appreciated!
This guitar is a BTO All-koa, and it is mic'ed.
I am using 2 microphones, and the mics are picking up both vocals and guitar.
Thank you so much, my friend!!!
Do you own a Taylor?
Warm regards,
Rene
