Default PRICE DROP: Martin J40 Jumbo 2012 Exc. Cond [SOUND CLIPS] - $3495

The unsung hero of the Martin lineup, the Martin J40 has that "Martin sound", the power of a dreadnought, but without so much boominess. It also takes to fingerpicking quite well. It features abalone trim on sound hole, abalone hex markers on the neck, and the CF Martin premium headstock. It also features an ebony fret board and saddle with 1 11/16" bone nut. All other standard specs apply. Comes with original Martin Case in mint condition. AGF price: $3495 shipped (PP F&F OK with signed bill of sale, otherwise buyer pays fees).

Here's a sound clip:

The guitar is excellent condition. It has a few light smudges in the finish, and some light surface scratch marks, but you really have to inspect closely at a certain angle to see any of it. Upon close inspection, I found one small impression on the top/lower bout. Minor fretwear on the first 3 frets. Overall, in very fine shape, and plays and sounds like a dream. A super versatile guitar, I only used it in my smoke-free pro studio. Just need cash for other gear, so I'm putting it up for sale.

nothing like the power of a 'J' to make your day - - -

slighly larger than a taylor ga / X14 model,
the J's have the drive of a dread and the martin depth of tone that you won't find on a taylor or such.

Such a beautiful guitar. I have an early ‘90’s J-40 and it’s the best-sounding guitar I own.

That's high praise! I love it too, just need cash for other things. At this price, I'm taking a pretty big loss. Who wants it?

I had a J-40 for a brief period ..... everything they say is true about how great they sound. I wish this one had a 1 3/4" nut!

Great looking guitar & sounds great! I bought an H&D OM from Dave a few months ago. Smooth transaction and the guitar was just as advertised! A great guy to deal with, so buy with confidence! Good Luck with your sale.

I have a serious buyer on hold on Reverb, but would much rather it go to an AGFer, let me know if you've been eyeing it - now's the time!
