Lightbulb Elixir strings suggestion for an Epiphone J-200

Hi. I'm considering buying a Gibson inspired Epiphone J-200 in the near future, and I'm curious what strings/gauge you think would be the most suitable to get as close as possible to the "Wonderwall"-ish guitar sounding tone? Based on your experience with the guitar.
And yeah, I'm a massive fan of Oasis and their acoustic tone.

I think the strings made by Elixir are excellent, therefore that's why it's in the title.

A guitar in hand is worth two in the bush. Sometimes I like the tone and playability of the strings (oftentimes new guitars are shipped with tag ID of the strings that are issued) and only then, after putting the guitar through it's paces will I look to harness a guitar with a different set. Sometimes the manufacturer is spot on, or at least ball-park in tone tastes.

Used Elixirs for a long time.

I've always liked what they gave me.

The do tend to shred the coating, in the area with you're pick will land, as well as the first 3 - 5 frets.

And as go the shredding, the G string's go first, but they all will follow.

The nanoweb (thinner coating) is preferred by many vs the polyweb

Phospher Bronze will not be as bright as 80/20s

A good alternative that actually lasts longer without shredding the coating are the D'Addario XS

I don't have an Epiphone or a Gibson acoustic. But I do use Elixir on all three of my Takamine's.

I am presently using 11's on both of the 6 strings. I will stay with them on the GD93. The new GJ72CE may get 12's the next change.

Try a couple different gages and go with what drives the top best.

Snurre,

I use Elixir PB HD Light gauge on my Epiphone IBG J-200. Actually for all three of my J-200 style guitars, and also on other six string instruments including my Grand Orchestra and smaller Grand Concerts. This gauge uses .013 and .017 Medium trebles instead of .012 and .016 Light gauge trebles, to go with Light gauge bass strings. Sounds great to my ears.

I also fingerpick all my instruments, using my nails as picks. It's actually hard pick attacks that cause strings to fray, as 'rmp' mentioned.

Yesterday I was at a friend's house, he has a Gibson SJ-200. He uses Elixir PB Medium, and it sounds beautiful.

I used a variety of striings on mine over the years. Settled on various Mediums, then Elixir Mediums, and then re-settled on the Elixir PB HD Light gauge a few years back.

HD Lights = .013, .017, .025, .032, .042, .053.

Large body guitars don't really need the heavier bass strings to sound good.
Nor do my aging hands.

I still fingerpick all my instruments, using my nails as picks.

And Jumbo guitars are naturally well-balanced instruments.
HD Lights help in this regard too.

Hi Snurre

I recommend ghost strings for your non-existent guitar.

After you have one, start trying different strings which respond to your style and your touch.

I'm an all flesh with a hint a nail for emphasis type player. So unless you are the same, what value would my recommendations have for you?

I use Elixir Nano for all my guitars (including electrics).
