Guild F-50 Blonde, 1976 - SOLD
I purchased this Guild F-50 Blonde, made in Waverly, RI, new in July 1976 My professional days were well behind me then, and it has been my personal, at-home companion all these years. At this point, though, I am ready for a smaller body guitar so am looking for a new home for this old friend.
This guitar is wonderful, with full, rich sound that is well balanced across the spectrum. Of course it has plenty of volume, but also responds well to soft strumming and fingerpicking. I could not have asked for a better instrument and am happy to say that until now I have never felt the need for any other guitar. I had it evaluated by Edward Dick at Victor Guitar here in Denver in July 2020. At that time Mr. Dick said, “The guitar was built in 1976. It features features curly maple back, sides, and neck, Sitka spruce top, ebony fretboard and bridge. The neck has been reset, bridge has been thinned and fretboard refretted. It also has a new bone nut and saddle. There are no cracks in the body or internal repairs. Finish is somewhat worn, with playing wear and dings appropriate for its age. Tone is excellent and it plays very well.” There is finish checking that comes and goes in the winter (even though I keep my entire home at 40-45% humidity and watch the level compulsively ) and is mostly gone in warmer months. The case is original and although worn the handle and clasps remain fully functional. The details: Upper bout 12.5 inches Waist 10.5 inches Lower bout 17.0 inches Width at nut 1.5 inches. SORRY, THIS IS INCORRECT. ACTUAL WIDTH AT NUT IS 1.73 INCHES Width at saddle 2.16 inches Price is $SOLD. Sorry, but not interested in trades or in shipping, so local sale in Denver, CO only please. Will upload photos as soon as I figure out how, or email me: curlygreens@gmailcom. Last edited by js303; 02-05-2022 at 02:46 PM. Reason: Guitar has been sold |
