Thanks everyone. I have been considering a D-18 myself, either a standard or a Retro (love the Retros). I will look up some of the sponsors mentioned here, I really appreciate this website and all those who have a part in bringing it to us.

Another vote for Jon at My Favorite Guitars. I live in Canada and Jon's pricing and service/shipping to Canada were incredible. Super nice guy.

It is cheaper to buy from the States. Here is how it works buying from the USA and having it shipped to Canada. A Martin D18 is $1869 plus $150 shipping =$2019 USD x 13% HST = $2261 X 1.30 exchange rate =$2939.66 CDN. You only pay the HST there are no other fees like duties or tariffs

Long and McQuad across Canada sells a D18 for $3319 plus 13% HST = $3750 CDN. A difference of $811.47. I have communicated to some of the sponsors and they will ship to a UPS depot close to the boarder where you can pick it up. Usually the shipping fee is much less or free so you save money, if your drive is reasonable.

Does anyone know if Maury ships F.F.A.?
I think Ted @ LA Guitars does.

I always recommend our friend Ted at LA Guitar Sales. Best looking wood around IMO. Great guy. Ask for the forum price!

It's a great day when someone who is buying a new Martin finds out about street pricing. Good Luck!

For all the trash talk about them I bought a NIB 0-18 for around $1860 recently at my local Guitar Center. I don't know exactly what came over them, but it was actually a salesman that I had dealt with before that made the offer.

Yes, absolutely. After everything was taken into account, I still saved about $1,000 compared to if I had bought the guitar in Canada. I see too that you live in Ottawa as I do. I received my guitar in just over a week from Jon's store in Florida. I picked it up at Canada Post at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. Very easy and smooth transaction.

For sure, it makes me cringe to think of what I could have paid for my 00018! I went with maury's in the end, it should be here saturday.

Once again, thanks to everyone!

I can't wait to ruin your "New guitar guessing game" on the other site.

Ha, I look forward to it. The om28 didn't work out, especially after figuring out about the huge discount I could have had on it.
