It's a lovely little miniature, isn't it? I've visited Loch Katarine up in the Scots Trossachs between Inverary and Aberfoyle. It is a beautiful, quiet mountain lake.

I always have the same strings regardless of the tuning. It is a special game DADGAD (13, 17,20,27,36,59)
