I’m watching Scrubs reruns on Amazon Prime (free). That not so old comedy still makes me laugh. My favorite character is Dr Cox played by John C. McGinley. That guy was belly laugh funny and his confrontations with Dr Kelso, the Chief Of Medicine at the hospital were flat out hilarious. Scrubs ran I think for ten years on network TV to 2010 and you will see things even that short while ago that would be considered verboten in the easily offended age in which we now live.

Just finished “Maid” on Netflix. One season, eight episodes and most worthy of the limited time investment. Beautifully acted by the entire cast (especially the real-life mother/daughter stars) tho dark in subject matter (domestic abuse).

Just finished season 1 of 'Annika' starring Nicola Walker - mixture of Police drama/mystery/investigation with a big serve of dry, subtle humor.

Really enjoyed it.

Okay, so hopefully some of you folks who watch recent UK/Euro TV mystery/police shows can help me:

I think the series is based in Scotland.

In one episode, a woman and her daughter are kidnapped.

Unknown to the kidnappers, the woman is a member of some highly-trained undercover government organization.

In the part I remember, the woman is told to write a message to the authorities outlining the kidnappers' ransom demands. For this purpose the kidnappers give her a nice sharp pencil.

That turns out to be a mistake. A very bad mistake.

Anybody???

Goliath on Amazon Prime, with Billy Bob Thornton and a whole cast of characters throughout the series you may not have seen in a while, like Dwight Yoakum, William Hurt,Beau Bridges, Dennis Quaid, (who hasn't aged well, BTW) and Paul Williams who I wouldn't have thought of for 100 bucks- a buddy told me about it and it's kind of like Lay's potato chips- you can't eat just one

I enjoyed it. Had a bit of a Star Wars feel to it, but that's no bad thing. Pretty solid ensemble cast, though I am not sure how Chalomet is going to pan out as the lead. I will definitely go to see the second film, which I hope gets made. Makes me want to go back and revisit the book, which I last (re)read 30 odd years ago.

I'm a huge powersports fan. If you can get past the dram and the games they play, Street Outlaws on Discovery + isn't terrible. It occupies more of my time than it should.

I’ll watch the second one too. I got off to a shaky start with this film, but it did capture me eventually. I’m guessing it could have been my frame of mind. I might watch it again.

On October 31 a world wide release of season 13 of the Dr. Who series will be back for six episodes only. There will be a few specials as well but the series itself is very short this year. Also, it will be only one story line throughout all six episodes. Tons of old and new monsters, foes and instigators! Last season for the current Dr.(Jodie Whittaker) and head writer Chris Chibnell. No announcements yet about who will become the new Dr. Who in the 2022/2023 season.
