Default Canadian Football League (CFL) 2021.

The Canadian Football League 2021 season kicks off today in a shortened season, which is better than last year (no season). 14 games instead of the usual 18.

ESPN2, ESPNEWS and ESPN+ is carrying every game this year and TSN/RDS in Canada.

Who are you rooting for?

Might watch the final as an excuse to have some wings but other than that, don't care.

I like the CFL and occasionally go to Ottawa Redblacks (stupid name!) home games with a buddy. I much prefer the NFL though.

I liked it when they had two different franchises with the same team name.

Yes, the Ottawa Rough Riders (became the Renegades and now the Redblacks) and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Riders are my team, although I'm only a casual CFL fan the past few years. The only CFL game I saw was back in 2007 or '08 when I flew to Regina for the week-end just to watch a game. I had never been to Saskatchewan before so I decided to make the trip (by myself). We won and it was a great atmosphere in the stands. I walked from the hotel downtown.

Yea, that was stupid. There was a reason behind it but still.

The Roughriders are the only unbeaten team at 3-0. Tiger Cats only winless team at 0-2.

CFL Playoffs start today. Calgary at Saskatchewan in the Western Semifinal and Montreal at Hamilton in the Eastern Semifinal. Winnipeg and Toronto get a bye.

Any favorites that you're rooting for? Go Riders!

Born in Regina, Riders fan for life.
We used to ride our bikes to the practice field and wander around amongst Lancaster, Reed, Campbell, etc.

Craig, I went to a Riders' game back in 2007 (or was it 2008). I flew in just for the week-end as I had never been to SK before. Great game, great atmosphere, and great fans. I walked from my hotel room it was so close to downtown.

Dru,
You're right, it's a great atmosphere. I've been to games in every other city except Van. & Mtl. but none were quite the same.
My grandparents lived a short walk from Taylor Field and my Dad and Aunt had season tickets. As kids we could sit in the "Rider Rookie" section for 50 cents. We moved away from Regina in '67 and I haven't been back to a game there since the '90's.
I'd love to go to a game in the new stadium, but I don't that happening anytime soon with what's going on.

Hey Gabe,

Yeah, the small world seems to get smaller as we get older. Six degrees and all that, I suppose.
What schools did you go to? Are you still in Regina?
