Default I'm bummed ... is this a difficult repair

I purchased my first acoustic a few weeks ago and unfortunately damaged it today. I was distracted and did not pay enough attention when placing it on a stand. Hit the top of the stand.

Is this a difficult repair to have done? There might be some internal damage as I can see a very faint vertical mark next to the electronics mount.

Thanks. I took a second picture of the inside and did not see the same faint vertical mark. keeping fingers crossed it is just cosmetic.
It is a 324ce builder series.

Had a luthier look at the damage. He confirmed it is cosmetic only. Now I need to decide whether to send it to Taylor for repair and refinish. Both the luthier and Taylor told me that Taylor is the best option to properly repair the finish.

The other option is to have the luthier repair the crack but it will be noticeable.

The builder series has a "silent satin finish" which I am told is different from their satin finish.

Doug - unless you are looking to re-sell it, you’ll be the only one who notices the blemish after a repair, especially considering its location. I suppose it depends on how much it bugs you. Personally, I would repair it locally and play on.

Best,

Rick

if you can be without it while it sits in the backlog, I would highly recommend Taylor does the repair,

I've used them to repair damage to my 2006 Grand Symphony (I have photos to show you, you can pm if you want)

They will make it look like it never happened.

on the down side, it took about three months to turn it around.

Good luck. Sending to Taylor is probably the best option, as long as you're not in a hurry to get the guitar back.

Taylor does excellent, and very fair cost wise, repair work.

take a look on page 6, post 85, of the significant crack damage of this Taylor i used to own, before and after pictures. in hand, the repair was invisible, my camera was high detail and intensified the pics. at that time it was gone a month-including shipping to and from, and cost was under $300 which included return shipping. somewhere in the thread i'm sure i mentioned the exact cost, seems like it was mid $200 range.

this will be invisible when you get it back.

Taylor also have gold class level repairers, these are 3rd party repairers who have been endorsed by taylor to do finish work
