Thanks for sharing. I'm familiar with both artists, but not this collaboration. Its so much fun. I'd love to learn both parts to this and make a recording if I can find the sheet music.

Whatever that guy is doing with his pick periodically is very slight of hand, from pick to fingers and back so many times, and so smoothly and quickly. Sometimes it looks like he somehow palms it, other times he's quick reaching back by the end-pin for some reason. I cant quite follow where that pick is half the time.

I don't think he's using a flat pick - looks like a thumb pick, but it's clear so it's hard to really see it well. I could never get single note lines to sound that even and clear with a thumb pick, but he's good at it!

Nice piece, nice playing...

To me it sure looks like at at least a couple points he's holding a pick, too, right before and after these points you can see him do something funky with his right hand... but possibly you are right.

Playing rapid single-note lines with a thumb pick requires that you "brace" the thumbpick with the forefinger... that's what he's doing.

I actually think he pulls his hand back towards the butt of the guitar to allow the microphone to pick up as much of the guitar as possible... kind of euphemistic and hopeful, but the flourish is quite theatrical and dramatic!
