Default Yaz....it's in his blood!

Last night(6-15-21) the Giants came back from a 7-0 deficit to win with a dramatic Yaz grand slam...Grandpa must be smiling

Into the bay no less! Awesome!

I turned this game on for a bit when it was 4-0 and immediately went back to playing my telecaster.

His grandad definitely one of my all-time favorite players. Glad to see the youngster doing so well.

I watched that clip twice - gave me goosebumps thinking of Carl! Exciting. I lost track of Mike Yaz this season. That's his highlight of the season for sure.

We miss you Carl!

Absolutely... me too! What a ballplayer Yaz was. Glad it runs down through the years.

Yaz played second base in Raleigh. But not for long. That was prior to your team taking over the minor franchise.

Thumbs up WOW!

1967 came down to the last game of a double header for the East division. Detroit ended up one game out behind the Red Sox as Grandpa Carl had his greatest season...astounding!

Yastrzemski won the second of his three batting titles (.326) while leading the league in homers (44) and RBIs (121) for the only time in his 23 seasons. All three numbers were career highs for the Hall of Famer, who also topped the AL in on-base percentage (.418), slugging (.622), runs (112), hits (189) and total bases (360) while earning a Gold Glove Award and the AL MVP Award.

Yaz held on to the "last player to win the Triple Crown" title for 45 years years. That was the Impossible Dream season. I have that record that my father bought when it came out.

1967 was a terrific season for Yaz, but what team did the Sox lose to in the Series that year? The Cardinals!!

Glorious team....but in 1968 the Cardinals met the Tigers-and what a matchup!

Denny McClain won 30 games...30! Lolich was a machine...ahhh, what great memories. Tigers, down 3 games to 1, reeled off 3 games and took the final, in St Louis, on the famous Curt Flood miscue. I still hear the horns honking downtown on Woodward Avenue

Oh yes... Tigers vs Cardinals was a great series in '68 for which we found revenge in 2006.

1968 = 1.12.
