Only one guitar allowed? What a terrible prospect.
Maybe it would be my best guitar, a Santa Cruz OM with Italian spruce top, or perhaps my most played guitar, a Martin CEO7

I'm very hopeful it's the new Collings OM1-T Adirondack I brought home today

Default If you could only have one acoustic guitar

I’d have to get rid of my other guitars..... I don’t think so.
No single guitar does everything well. You need a bunch of guitars so you can cheat on the others.

Variety is the spice of life. You need a 12 string for Hotel California, a Les Paul or Strat to rock out, Taylor’s for most music - but not all, and a Martin to be mellow.

One guitar - I don’t think so

Probably my Adamas 1687, though apparently last month was the end of Adamas production as more than half of the Ovation employees were laid off.

You must love your D35! I'm commenting because I just ordered one from Jon at My Favorite Guitars. I debated between the D28 or D35 or HD28, and ended up with the D35. I will receive it the end of the week. Tell me about your experience with the guitar.

What is meant by production guitar? Do boutique builders count?

My Taylor 528e. If something happened to that, a Taylor 524e.

Realistically any one of many guitars could be the only one. However of my guitars - if one was to be the number - then a 000-18 would be the best all-around guitar i've ever played.

I am happy with the tone of either one of my guitars, though I'd probably keep the J15, just because the short scale plays like butter.

If I was going to buy a solo keeper, it'd be a hard choice between a Kevin Kopp K35 or a Dale Fairbanks F35 Smeck Stage Deluxe or Jim Merrill C18. Any of which would be a lifetime guitar.
