Default Barrel House Blues

A Woody Mann cover.

This was one of those recording when you play it a few times perfectly, turn on the recorder and poof, gone. Turn off the Zoom, play it a few times perfectly, turn on the Zoom, and again, poof, gone, lol. Best recording of more than a few.

Its played on my Guild D-120ce. Today is the first time that I've played it in standard tuning, its always been in dadgad or a related tuning since I bought it. The strings I just put on, Martin Flexible Cores lights, don't do the guitar justice. I like light trebles and medium wounds on this one best. Any way, until I get to the store and get a set of mediums, here it goes:

Freakin awesome Barry! I know for certain that would put a smile on Woody's face. You should make the trip to study with him in person one day. He'd love your playing.

Hi Barry, That is one of my favorites from you! What I really like is the relaxed feel that you get, and I know for a fact Woody's songs can be anything but relaxing to try and get under your fingers. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Doug! Maybe when I retire I'll go to one of those guitar camps.

Thanks Bob! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks his stuff is tougher than it sounds and looks. Even though his arrangements are mostly first position stuff, they are a lot like playing "Twister" on a fret board at times,

Thanks Mr. J!

The Zoom is a neat thing to have around. It takes a little more than
a minute to hook the Zoom to my computer with a usb cord, put it into usb transfer mode and then import a recording into Audacity.

Barry!

I think the recording sounds REALLY good! I like the sound of your bare thumb and fingers on the strings! Super bluesy -- very nice!
