The Gibson sounds great with the capo FB. Very dry, not tinny for so far up the neck Nice playing and singing!

Thanks Doug and Bob!
The old guitar has a lifting bridge, highish action and not much saddle. But still sounds good. That old dry wood tone. |

Very well done fb. I always enjoy your playing and singing 'cause your style comes across as very genuine and honest. Great old tune to work with too. Keep 'em coming amigo.

I start my own thread and not spoil yours, but I'm another who sings the song and relates to it because I was once told that it was one of my great-grandfather's favorite songs.
Your rendition is more tuneful than mine, and the folks in the thread who mention it's honesty see the same thing I like in it. You've got a human-sized approach to the song and this listener (and others) can hear that, that's the same thing that attracted me to what was called "folk music" back decades ago, and so-called punk rock a couple of decades later.

Thanks kr, birddog, Dom, Glenn and Frank. Really appreciate your comments!
Funny I posted this on another guitar forum and a chap commented the LG-2 was the wrong guitar for that song. Left me somewhat bemused. |
