I want to corral my mess of wires. Is there a good tutorial on how wire a board? Especially on how to wire the correct receptacles to a board for ac power, 1/4, xlr, dc power, etc?

I’m using a Play Acoustic elevated 3 ft on a stand.

- The Play connects an xlr-xlr to a mic, then the same to the Fishman amp.

For the pedal board:
- The Play and a music stand LED light feed DC cables down to the floor OneSpot isolated power supply box.
- The Play connects a 1/4-1/4 cable down to a TC Switch 6.
- The Play feeds an XLR-1/4 down to a tone pedal and possible others, which feeds a 1/4-1/4 to the amp.

Everything on the floor I want to pre-wire on a board. Twant to manage all INs and OUTs by receptacles in the back of the board. I’d like some guidance/instruction on this. I’m also not sure what to do about the two DC lines coming from above down to the one-spot. Are there DC receptacles for pedal boards or do I mount the one-spot in such a way under the board to expose its connectors to the back of the board?

Check out Temple Audio boards. Pretty much endlessly customizable and have a bunch of what they call “modules” to handle any combo of ins and outs you could ever dream of.

Currently:

Top two pics are the most recent. The others just show how it all sets up.

Small Rig (No Sub)

Medium Rig Sub, FOH, & Floor Monitor

Small to medium setups are all one trip on the rock n roller cart. Small rig (one speaker) is a 7 minute setup. Medium rig is under 15 minutes. All cabling gets stored in the flight cases.

It's worth the extra effort to me.

Here's the latest edition of my ongoing acoustic pedal board project for psychedelic-tinged band heavy on the improv:

The newest bits are the Nemesis Delay with its preset paging switch (the Boss FS-5U) and parameter control switch (the MXR Tap switch--set to control feedback, so I can self-oscillate at will), the compressor (which is identical to the MXR Studio Compressor, just with a white enclosure--it helps control the string-to-string response of the Mel9), and the Quintessence Harmonizer. The Zoom MS-50G is now being used for tremolo and phasing (the latter sounds particularly good with the Nemesis' Binson Echorec engine).

So you did buy the ZED?

Ok, so here is a mock-up of what I'm thinking. The Play Acoustic is elevated on a Mic stand. I have NO IDEA what I'm doing here with electrical components, other than the little tidbits I've read here and there the last couple days.

Questions:
- For AC power do I want a standard IEC 3-prong with on/off switch or one of them new fangled PowerCon v1 or v2 connectors?
- Should I add other Ins/Outs now for common uses or does this look sufficient? E.g. Another 1/4 jack or Mic jacks?
- Parts Sources: I've seen Best-tronics, Allied Electronics. Any other good ones?
